General Information

The Empirical Research Workshop for Operations and Technology Management is an international, collaborative initiative taking place June 28 & 29, 2023 at the Huabei Hotel, Hangzhou.  Host organizers are:

School of Management, Zhejiang University

The Workshop has the following objectives:

  1. Offer hands-on and cutting-edge sessions over two days to enhance empirical research capabilities of junior scholars and PhD students, supported by senior and experienced scholars in the field; and
  2. Facilitate research collaborations to advance scientific understanding pertaining to emerging operations and technology management topics.

The Workshop will include tutorial sessions on specific methods for data collection or data analyses and one coaching session in which a select number of workshop attendees will present their full papers and receive feedback to improve their papers before journal submission.

Attendees

The Workshop has a capacity of 40 attendees, excluding Workshop Leaders and sponsors. Attendees are junior scholars and Ph.D. students with interests in empirical research in operations and technology management.

To be eligible for presenting in the coaching session, attendees are encouraged but not required to submit a full unpublished working paper as part of registering for the Workshop. Because of the limited number of seats, attendees will be selected, given preference to those who have submitted a full unpublished working paper and the quality of the working paper.

Workshop Fee

The Workshop registration fee is Chinese Yuan 2,000 for non-DSI members and Chinese Yuan 1,650 for DSI members.
